One of the few grapes we do from out of the county, this Italian grape grown in Placer County loves the heat. It is a very low cropping vineyard up in Newcastle that gives a good richness to the fruit. Although it is a bit lighter in body than some of our other wines, this one has way more fruit and body than the typical Sangiovese. It displays beautiful red berry maybe black cherry or raspberry in character with a great tobacco finish. Pair with a wide variety of food, but the no-brainer is with anything Italian that has a red tomato sauce on it. Let out your inner Italian and get to cooking.
